Proposed Framework of Private Cloud Setup in Lab for Teaching and Research


ABSTRACT
Advancement in the field of information technology has
enabled us to optimize the use of physical infrastructure with
the help of virtualization, most of which is only used in
specific applications like vitalizing a local area network on
switch or vitalizing a compute resource to run more than one
operating system on a desktop.the benefits of same has not
been completely implemented and utilized in education and
research environments where we require a large amount of IT
resources. Cloud computing has emerged as one step further
solution to deploy all virtualized IT resources as per need on
self-service basis as a rental method for the users. Different
cloud deployment methods have emerged according to the
need of users, institutions and communities. This paper
describes the framework of design and implementing a simple
private cloud for education and research based on chip level
virtualization with hypervisor to establish a simple model of
Infrastructure as a service in cloud computing.

A Case of Multilevel Security Application for Ensuring Data Integrity (Prevention and Detection) in Cloud Environment



Cloud computing is a collective, optimized usage of IT resources which can be accessed from anywhere and performs the task of providing IT resources and services through various platforms as a service for users. Cloud users use different services of Cloud service providers and eventually end up keeping their data (in various forms) in cloud multi tenant environment. Multi-tenancy in cloud environment makes data vulnerable though with times different forms of threats and corresponding securities are already implemented in cloud environment. Although many of these services provide key functionality such as uploading and retrieving files by a precise user, more on going to the side of advanced services it offer features such as shared folders, real-time collaboration, and minimization of data transfers or unlimited storage space. As data is placed publically it require to search ways to protect the data from unauthorized access, files are uploaded publically and need to retrieve them securely with token ensuring possession proofs. In this paper we have presented a case of multilevel security application for ensuring data integrity (prevention and detection) in cloud environment.

effective and easily available for everyone even in remote areas. E-learning is an important means of education which has the potential to enhance the traditional system and becoming an integral part of learning. E-learning is effective as it not only eliminates distances but also increased the productivity, and improved the training course and more. “Learning is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel” and every student has the right to learn new things.Learning something new and innovative and sharing their thoughts with friends, teachers and with everyone who willing to know the new inventions is the matter of happiness for the students. To make them more happier and responsible citizen we need to help them with a new and interactive way of learning, for this schools must needs to introduce better and much more than defined learning material, syllabi and examination. This way developing new attitude towards students to make them realize need of each and every hour. E -learning is a very powerful tool to develop new educational domain. Effective E-learning comes from using ICT (information and communication technology) to spread more educational opportunities and help students to develop skills so that they will be able to present their ideas more clearly. e-learning still exists to be in a static form and lot of skepticism exists about its usefulness. This study is done to figure out open source based e- learning to bridge knowledge divide in J&K and enlighten the people of rural areas about the e-age and iron out differences by combining IT services with education of any type. Open source based e- learning will be cost effective to implement and maintain. The e-learning model based on open source can be implemented on National Knowledge Network project of Govt. of India.

Abstract: With ever increasing usage of IT infrastructure around the globe, the increase in energy consumption and carbon emission is a worrisome situation for everyone because of its direct effect on environment. The environment is being dangerously impacted by Information Technology infrastructure extensive use and its waste. Cloud computing has emerged as one step further solution to deploy all virtualized IT resources as per need on self-service basis as a rental method for the users. Different cloud deployment methods have emerged according to the need of users, institutions and communities. In last decade virtualization has been a milestone in enabling optimal usage of information technology resources. Cloud computing has provided a platform for deploying everything as a Service in IT, which has changed the economics of IT based business and organizations from Capital Expenditure to Operational Expenditure. For enabling Cloud services we first need to understand our existing infrastructure. In second step we should be able to virtualize it for optimal usage. Then with the help of existing cloud applications we can deliver and deploy information technology as a resource at various levels such as infrastructure, platform, and software.

Cloud computing trend is increasing rapidly so to make cloud computing more popular the very first step for the organization is to identify exact area where the cloud related threats lie. At an unusual pace, cloud computing has transformed business and government. And this created new security challenges. The development of the cloud service model provide business – supporting technology in a more efficient way than ever before .the shift from server to service based technology brought a drastic change in computing technology. However these developments have created new security vulnerabilities, including security issues whose full impressions are still rising. This paper presents an overview and study of cloud computing, with several security threats, security issues, currently used cloud technologies and security solutions.
